Industry Hall of Fame Recipient, Sam Bailin, Passes Away

 

Harrisburg, PA – Samuel I. Bailin, 78, died September 17, 2008 in Scottsdale, AZ.  Sam had a major impact on the food service distribution industry over the past 50 years.  He began his own company, Redi-Froz, Inc. in South Bend, Indiana and continued his passion as a world-renowned consultant working for major food companies.  In the year 2000, he was inducted in the Frozen Food Hall of Fame. He served on the Board of Directors of the National Frozen Food Association from 1987 to 1989 and on the Association’s Executive Committee as Vice Chairman Foodservice from 1990 to 1993.

 

Sam was married to his wife Lois for 58 years and had four children, Debbie Kemmerling, Randy Sr. (deceased), Mark and Kevin. In addition to Lois and his children, Sam is survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

 

Memorial services were held on Monday, September 22, 2008 in Mesa, AZ.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix AZ, 85014 or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
