National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association Elects New Officers and Directors at 64th Annual Membership Meeting
Harrisburg, PA — The National Frozen & Refrigerated
Foods Association (NFRA) elected its Association Officers and Members of the
Board of Directors for 2008-2009 at its Annual Membership Meeting and Luncheon
held October 13 in San Diego, CA. The Membership Meeting was held in
conjunction with the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention at the
San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina.
Gary Spinazze, VP Vendor Relations, Nash Finch Company, has been
elected Chairman of the Board of the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods
Association. Spinazze has served on the Board since 2002 when refrigerated
foods were added to the scope of the Association. He served as Secretary from
2006-2007, and as Chairman-Elect from
2007-2008. Spinazze is also a member of The Distinguished Order of Zerocrats.
Other Officers sworn in at the Association’s 64th Annual
Meeting were: Travis Hubbard, Harris Teeter, Chairman-Elect; Jeff
Thomas, Michael Foods, Inc., Secretary; Ray Tarnowski,
Philadelphia Warehouse & Cold Storage, Treasurer; John Larsen,
Safeway, Inc., Vice Chairman Refrigerated; and Bob Montgomery, Birds Eye
Foods, Inc., Vice Chairman Frozen.
Newly elected to the Board of Directors were: John Arnold, Sargento Foods, Inc.; David Davis, Welch’s Foods; Kevin Jordan, Kraft Cheese & Dairy Division; Chris Kiser,
Pinnacle Foods Group; John Kunkel, Nestle USA; Scott O’Hara,
Kellogg Company; and David Welch, Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc.
Elected for a second term on the Board of Directors were: Bob
Branham, General Mills; James Dorey, Wakefern Food Corp.; Scott Haws, Land O’ Lakes
Foods, Inc.; Dan MacPhee, Masters Gallery Foods, Inc.; and Jim Murphy, Dannon Company.
NFRA is a non-profit trade association representing all segments of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry. Headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, NFRA is the sponsor of March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month, June/July Ice Cream & Novelties promotion and October Cool Food for Kids. NFRA holds the annual National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in October.
